Assistant Facility Manager Summary: Manages the planning, directing, and oversight of building operations and services for the Calspan Business Park.
  • Manage with the intent to motivate, train and develop.  Manage administrative responsibilities (scheduling, timekeeping, and budgeting). Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding work and performance.  Manage non-performing employees in accordance with company policy.  Manage high potential employees to career succession and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee Computerized Maintenance Management System, distribute work orders to facility maintenance personnel, and hold personnel accountable for timely completion of work orders.  Follow up with customers to ensure satisfactory completion of work orders.  Ensure that preventative maintenance of facility equipment is performed and performed correctly.
  • Create scopes of work for service contracts (i.e., janitorial, snow removal, fire inspection, etc.) and manage those contracts with the intent to achieve measurable budget results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Work with procurement department and corporate service team to procure necessary materials and services to achieve measurable budget results and maintain customer satisfaction.   
  • Execute miscellaneous campus projects to ensure timely completion in addition to ensuring positive budget results.
Preferred Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, or any related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience or a combination of education and experieince equivilent to above.
  • Referigeration Certification and/or Stationary Engineer license a plus.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical/plumbing schematics a plus.

  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to manage and schedule a team of maintenance technicians
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must have budget experience
