Flight operations at Calspan consist of a large portfolio of engineering, flight, and research activities. Headquartered in Niagara Falls, New York, Calspan’s Flight Research center is home to a fleet of aircraft that include Learjets, Gulfstream III, and a Premier. These aircraft are used for variable stability programs, flight equipment testing, and a variety of other projects for private and government organizations. We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team and continue our rich tradition of modifying and flying test aircraft. This position performs research, design, test and interface development of electrical equipment and systems including digital and analog systems.

Due to the security requirements for this position, US Citizenship is required.

  • Support execution of testing operations in accurate and efficient manner.
  • Support analysis of feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical equipment systems.
  • Maintain engineering data and/or drawings, which includes layouts, models and analyses.
  • Support the development of technical documentation including engineering plans, requirements definition, test procedures, installation design plans and related technical reports.
  • Provide guidance to technicians in fabrication, installation and operations of electrical and related equipment and systems.
Preferred Education / Experience:
  • Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years in Engineering or related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
  • Electrical/Electronic engineering methods
  • Perform basic analog and digital circuit design
  • Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage  abstract and concrete variables
