Ramp Manager Summary:  Responsible for overseeing and directing a variety of aircraft ground handling services. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage with the intent to motivate, train and develop.  Manage administrative responsibilities (scheduling, timekeeping, budgeting) . Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding work and performance.  Manage non-performing employees in accordance with company policy.  Manage high potential employees to career succession and growth opportunities.
  • Determine and maintain the necessary and appropriate amount of personnel and equipment necessary to fulfill contract requirements. 
  • Oversee all Ramp related activities including, but not limited to, the loading, un-loading and transportation of baggage to ensure compliance with customer requirements. 
  • Plan and organize the most efficient use of resources to meet customer and staffing requirements through development and coordination of employee and equipment resources.  Create, communicate and adhere to scheduling requirements to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Direct and coordinate activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals.
Preferred Education / Experience:
  • Associates degree in Business Administration
  • 3+ years' progressive management experience including ground handling of commercial aircraft or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • Strong knowledge of applicable FAA regulations

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively communicate internally and externally with customer representatives, airport Authorities, Ramp Agents, Bag Room, and Customer Service Agents as well as local and corporate management
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and stressful environment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a drug test/ background check and be able to obtain airport security clearance
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts including, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time
