Instrumentation Technician

Candidate will assist in the preparation, installation, and operation of instrumentation systems. Responsibilities include: install strain gauges, thermocouples, accelerometers and a variety of other electronic components/sensors, reading wiring drawings, troubleshooting equipment measurement anomalies and construction of harnesses and electrical devices.

Description for Avionics Technician:
  • Perform inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and project installations and modifications to any FLTR aircraft assigned to support. 
  • Fabricate and/or modify electronic enclosures, panels, circuit boards and wire harnesses for FLTR applications. Work quality shall be to the acceptable level for aircraft installations where applicable.
  • Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
  • Follow established quality assurance procedures with regard to all work performed on and associated with FLTR aircraft. 
Preferred Education / Experience for Avionics Technician:
  • AAS in related discipline
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • Aviation-related work experience is highly desired
Preferred Knowledge / Ability for Avionics Technician:
  • Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
  • Electrical and electronic principles
  • Perform operations and execute test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
  • Testing and inspection principles and procedures
