Flight operations at Calspan consist of a large portfolio of engineering, flight, and research activities. We are searching for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Principal AeroMechanical Engineer to support Calspan's Aerospace Department located in Niagara Falls, NY.
  • Lead and perform structural and systems engineering work associated with aircraft modifications.
  • Ground and flight test leading to FAA Supplemental Type Certificates (STC).
  • Coordination with FAA certification authorities for STCs.
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining engineering data and/or drawings, including design layouts, three-dimensional models, and detailed structural and system analyses.
  • Support the development of technical documentation including project plans, system requirements definition, ground and flight test plans and results, and related technical reports.
Preferred Education / Experience:
  • Bachelors in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Advanced degree preferred with experience in aircraft structures
  • 10+ years in Aero/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Demonstrated success in leading/working within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Aviation-related experience preferred
Preferred Knowledge / Ability: 
  • Experience with aircraft structures engineering methods
  • Project management
  • Proposal development and presentation
