The Software Engineer will continue our rich tradition of modifying and flying test aircraft. The successful candidate will develop and maintain embedded Linux based computer systems for research aircraft in a structured team environment. The Software Engineer will be a motivated self-starter always looks for ways to improve products and development processes. Candidate must also find working with research aircraft on cutting edge DoD development programs rewarding.

Due to the security requirements for this position, US Citizenship is required.

Description for Software Engineer:
  • Support execution of testing operations in accurate and efficient manner.  Design, develop and maintain embedded systems in testing environments as a member of a software team.
  • Maintain and document software approaches and solutions through the software lifecycle for multiple programs.
  • Support development of new applications and test procedures.  Evaluate new technologies for implementation.  Conduct research that tests and analyzes feasibility, design, operation and performance of systems.
  • Work with an Interdisciplinary team to define requirements, design software architecture, implement and unit test code, integrate software and checkout with aircraft systems.
  • Support structured SQM and SQA processes.

Preferred Education / Experience:
  • Bachelors/Masters CS/EE/CompE or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years in software development or related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
  • Embedded Linux SW development
  • Linux device drivers development
  • Interfacing analog/digital/serial/avionics busses I/O hardware at register level
  • Git SCM
  • GNU toolchain
  • Qt graphical applications
  • C development, C++ development
  • Structured SCM and SQA environments
  • Network programming
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MIL-STD-1553 bus
