Facilities Technician Summary:  Perform a variety of tasks, indoor and outdoor, involving physical labor.
  • Use seasonal equipment to remove snow, spread salt, perform landscaping maintenance, and other facilities related tasks to ensure facility grounds look professional.
  • Manage the loading dock to ensure that incoming and outgoing shipments/packages are properly packaged, shipped, and recorded.  Inspect shipment and report any defective material shipped or received.
  • Performs a variety of work in the upkeep and repair of buildings and grounds.
  • Clean up debris and other materials to prepare areas for construction and eliminate hazards. Moves and/or assists in moving furniture and equipment.
Preferred Education / Experience:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1+ years in related years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
 
Preferred Knowledge / Ability: 
  • Effectively operate seasonal equipment
  • Ability to lifting repetitively, bend, and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to follow direction and fully complete all assigned tasks
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Able to follow workplace safety procedures, including machinery lock out, tag out and use of personal protective equipment
  • Able to perform job tasks outdoors in hot and cold conditions
  • Good communication skills to interact with tenants and coworkers
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs or up to 75lbs with assistance
